Why

COPYRIGHT credited the agent-policy files to Agent Foundry under MIT,
with an MIT notice to keep and a list of adopted files. Agent Foundry
now ships under MIT No Attribution from the same holder, and the list
leaves out most of the files the repository adopted, so the note gave
redistributors terms and a scope that no longer hold.

What changed

  • COPYRIGHT keeps the BSD 3-Clause license and the codex-jail and
    claude-jail source attribution, and no longer carries the Agent
    Foundry note or the MIT notice.
  • The foundry-upgrade skill's Record is still where the source and
    adopted commit live, and README.md's pointer to COPYRIGHT still
    holds.

How to verify

  • grep -nwiE 'MIT|foundry' COPYRIGHT prints nothing, and
    tail -1 COPYRIGHT prints the claude-jail URL.
  • Already run on the tip:
    make lint && .agents/hooks/shellcheck.sh repo && make test passes.
