Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Why
The Font Awesome font files in
src/webfonts/have been orphaned since the site moved its icons to Fontello, which_fontello.scssembeds as base64. No stylesheet, template, or script loads them; the only reference left was arobots.txtDisallow line for the directory. Jekyll still copied them into_site/once per language and jekyll-gzip compressed them, so they made up more than half of the production build and of the image layer pushed for both architectures. What changed
src/webfonts/is gone. Pages and icons are unchanged: the only icon font in the built CSS is Fontello.robots.txtwildcard group now holdsAllow: /in place of the/webfonts/Disallow, so it keeps a rule of its own with the same effective policy. The AI-training crawler blocks are untouched.Verification
make buildpasses.masteragainst this branch: 14 MB / 407 files before, 5.6 MB / 359 files after; the only files that differ are the removed fonts, and nothing in the new output references them.make prod_build).
